A City With an Architectural Language, and Homes That Should Speak It
Boca Raton is one of the few cities in South Florida with a design identity you can point at. The Mediterranean Revival vocabulary Addison Mizner introduced here still runs through the housing stock: arched openings, deep overhangs, barrel tile, heavy stucco walls, and interiors built around proportion rather than square footage alone.
That inheritance makes renovation here a decision rather than a default. You can carry the language forward, or you can move the house somewhere more modern. Both work. What does not work is a renovation that half-commits and leaves the house reading like two different buildings stitched together.
Milano Dezign designs and builds residential interiors throughout Boca Raton, and we take the project end to end: drawings, materials, trades, and schedule. One room or the entire house, the approach is the same.
What We Design and Build Inside the Home
Kitchens and bathrooms are our most requested projects and the most common way clients start with us. Whole-house and full-condo renovations are where the design has the most room to work. The scope extends well beyond those:

Kitchens and bathrooms, primary suites included

Bedrooms, walk-in closets, and dressing rooms

Living rooms, dining rooms, foyers, and entryways

Home offices, fitness rooms, and home spa or wellness spaces

Media rooms, home theaters, and entertainment rooms

Laundry and utility rooms

Whole-house renovations and complete condo remodels
Underneath every project sits the same set of tools: custom cabinetry, custom millwork and built-ins, countertops in granite, quartz, wood, or soapstone, flooring, tile, integrated and LED lighting, glass partitions, and appliance integration. On projects where scope warrants it, we produce 3D renderings so you are approving a design you can actually see.
Why Clients Give Us the Entire Project
The usual arrangement asks you to hire a designer, then a contractor, then referee the space between them. Every unexpected condition becomes a negotiation, and you are the one holding both phone numbers.
Our structure removes the referee. The person who designs your project is the person who runs it through construction, so the intent behind a drawing never has to survive a handoff. Questions get answered by someone who already knows why the detail exists.
The design point of view is European, grounded in the Italian tradition the firm was built around and adapted for how South Florida actually lives. Proportion first, warm materials, and rooms that hold up to daily use rather than photographing well once.
The firm is led by Abraham, our lead designer, who brings more than 15 years of hands-on design and construction experience. Projects are built by appropriately licensed partners and trades working under our direction.
How a Project Moves From Idea to Finished Space
Consultation
We walk the property with you, understand what is not working, and give you a candid view of what the project involves.
Design
Layout, materials, and finishes get developed together, with stamped architectural drawings coordinated through our partnered architectural groups when the scope requires them.
Selections locked
Cabinetry, counters, tile, lighting, and hardware are settled before anything comes apart. An open selection is the most common reason a schedule starts drifting.
Build
Trades, permits, inspections, and deliveries are coordinated on our side, and you always know what is happening this week and what comes next.
Close-out
Punch list cleared, final walkthrough together, project handed over finished.
Building Across Boca Raton, From the Ocean to the Western Communities
We work throughout the city, from the oceanfront properties and condo buildings near South Beach Park and the coastal blocks around the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, to the residences close to Mizner Park, and west into the established neighborhoods surrounding Sugar Sand Park.
Each of those areas asks a different question. Along the coast, oceanfront and near-ocean condos come with a fixed envelope and a building rulebook, so association approvals, permitted work hours, freight access, and common-area protection are planned before demolition rather than discovered mid-project. Closer to downtown, the Mediterranean-influenced homes reward a renovation that understands their proportions, where arches, ceiling heights, and millwork profiles carry more weight than any single finish. West of the interstate, the gated communities bring their own architectural review processes, and homes built through the 1990s and 2000s that have strong bones and standard-issue finishes waiting to be replaced.
Climate applies everywhere. Salt in the air near the water and humidity year round are unforgiving on the wrong hardware, cabinetry construction, or stone, so material decisions here are made for durability first and appearance second, which in practice means both.
Our design-build office is a short drive south on West Cypress Creek Road in Fort Lauderdale. We also work throughout the surrounding communities such as Highland Beach, Deerfield Beach, and Parkland, and across the wider South Florida corridor.
See the Work Before You Commit to Anything
Finished projects say more than any description we could write. Current and recent work is posted on our Instagram and YouTube channels, and past clients have described what the process was like on our Google Business Profile. In your consultation we will show you projects that match your home in scope and style.
Our work carries a one-year workmanship warranty, and manufacturer warranties are honored on the materials we install. Inquiries are answered within 24 hours on business days.
Questions Boca Raton Homeowners Ask Us
Do you handle both the design and the build?
Yes. Design, selections, project management, and construction all run through our team. One agreement, one accountable lead.
Can you modernize a Mediterranean-style home without erasing its character?
That is a large part of what design-led work means here. Layouts, systems, kitchens, and baths can all be brought current while the arches, proportions, and detailing that define the house stay intact. If you would rather take the interior somewhere more contemporary, that is a deliberate design decision we will plan for, not an accident.
What happens in the first meeting?
We visit the home, listen to what you want it to do differently, and lay out what the project realistically requires. Nothing is committed at that stage.
