History Hampton Maryland

The community of Hampton Maryland is an unincorporated community located in Baltimore Country with a population of 4,830 people. It is considered a subdivision of a nearby community of Towson, north of Baltimore.  The primary landmark in the community is the Towson United Methodist Church.  The community was founded in 1929 by the Hampton Development Company.

7West Bistro Grille – Food is amazing and definitely a fine dining experience. Large portions and so many appetizers to choose from. The room is large and with a nice bar setup as well. Quiet enough that you can talk and laugh without bothering other diners.

Bread and Circuses – This is a nice little bistro with an intimate atmosphere, friendly staff and a good drink selection. A nice place to share a good bottle of wine and some small plates. Try the omelet, lobster roll and tacos they are delicious.

Orchard Market & Café – If you are looking for a super delicious meal, the Orchard Market & Café is the definite place to be. Try the Soltani a full skewer of butterfly cut beef tenderloin and a skewer of finely ground beef grilled with tomato and onion, seasoned with umac. The chicken Abadan is a delicious mildly seasoned breast of chicken sautéed with jumbo shrimp and scallops; onions and farm tomatoes in a light curry sauce.

Fun Things to Do in Hampton

Hampton Mansion – This site is managed by the US National Park Service. The grounds and the home were once the central part of the vast Ridgely Estate.  It includes an 18th century Georgian style manor house complete with gardens, grounds and the original stone slave quarters. Admission is free and comes with guided tours.

Towson Town Center – This is a nice relatively new outdoor mall. Construction began in 2013 and opened October 2014.

Towson Place – This is a major shopping area located near Joppa road, Goucher Boulevard and Putty Hill Avenue. It was constructed on the site of the original Eudowood Plaza shopping center. It includes a Walmart, Target, Marshall’s and Bed Bath & Beyond.
